“2010 Award Ceremony!” by Leader K

I am on my way to Ikkicon folks and things are sort of hectic. However, as we are about to leave 2010 behind and ring the bells of the new year, I’m going to give a quick run down of who in the movie business deserves that extra note of praise. No, I have not seen everything, yes this will be short.

Best Film:

True Grit
A great classic western in a year that has not given it much competition. Not many Award deserving movies this year.

Best Actress:

Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit)
In a film with so many great actors, for a relative newcomer to steal the show is nothing less than award worthy.

Best Actor:

James Franco (127 Hours)
It is a true feat to make such a lame concept into an entertaining time, props to all involved, but without Franco’s great performance the movie does not work.

Best Director:

Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World)

Wright is 3-0 now and all three films have many calling them their favorite of that respective genre, its time to take note!

Best Script:

Christopher Nolan (Inception)
How often does such brilliant writing make one of the most successful movies of the year. Not often enough, but thanks to Nolan the future is looking bright.

Most Overrated:

Black Swan
Critics are giving overwhelming praise to this film that i find to be unfounded. As well acted, well directed, and well shot as this film is, it is not a great movie. It is a mindf$%# without any ambition outside of shocking the audience. It is very well made, but meaningless film.

What are you picks? Feel Free to leave me a comment down below and let me know what you think, if you enjoyed the review or what you want me to review next. I’ll pay attention. After all, you are my only reader.
